EMC WORLD 2013 – 8 Days To Go

Well it hardly seems like a year ago since EMC World 2012 but it has been a year and an eventful one.

We no longer view Big Data and Cloud as the next “Big Things” now the talk is around “Software Defined Data Center” and more around “Analytics” using that “Big Data” and not just eating away at your storage space by storing it all.

This time next week I will be all packed and ready to head out to Vegas, there are quite a lot of us from the North of the UK heading out Sunday 5th from Manchester for a week of:

– Awesome Announcements
– Awesome Keynotes (Wonder if the Tucci keynote and intro video can top last year)
– Awesome Labs
– Awesome Entertainment (My Schedule is filling fast with these)

This year I will be there as an EMC SE and not a customer so I have an SE Conference to attend also at the same time so it’s going to be a busy week but that’s why I joined EMC to be busy, so I can’t really complain.

We have had some fantastic announcements even before EMC World what with the “Pivotal” announcement and launch, the new offerings from VCE around not just vBlock 100 & 200 but also the SAP Hana vBlock. It does make you wonder what else can we be announcing at EMC World surely we have announced enough in 2013 already?

Well no, we will be announcing some great enhancements to existing technology but also I can see a big announcement or two being made also.

I will be blogging as ever live from the event and have managed to gain entry to the Social Media Area this year so can type up blogs and post on the go rather than having to wait till later in the day or even a few days later.

Expect photo’s just like my new hire blog, along with appearances of the “Cigar Club” crowd and the new “Vesper Club” (formed on professional skills week in February).

As ever I will be networking as much as possible as these events even for EMC employees are gold dust for networking and getting yourself known, just make sure it’s for the right reasons.

See you all there.
